Websites in Local Businesses

Through the Advanced Authentic Research (AAR) class, I combined my interest of technology in everyday life and website creation to conduct research about the role of websites in small businesses. Especially as more and more business moved into the online sphere due to COVID-19, I wanted to explore how local businesses were adapting to this change.

The central research question was: What are the various roles a website can play in a local business? I started by conducting background research, then I began collecting my own research through interviews with six local businesses. Eventually, using the marketing funnel and literary review knowledge, I analyzed the interviews and concluded with general website recommendations for small businesses.
